Keyford Development

‘The planning application for the Keyford development was finally approved today, 29^th September by a unanimous vote of Somerset County councillors. The ECPC were represented and raised various concerns to be addressed, but without much impact. To be fair, we had been warned it was all but a done deal as it had already been approved back in 2019. That was subsequently delayed by COVID and Phosphate mitigation requirements, so it had to be submitted by the developer again. The agreement between the developer and the County Council is a better one than before, with fairer terms and conditions.  We will continue to keep the process under review and keep an eye on opportunities to fine-tune it in favour of the Parish.  It is too early to say when the construction will actually start.
